My band Rending Sinew is looking for the following:

Keyboards/Soundscapes/Samples/Atmospheres/Loops

We are seeking a keyboardist/soundscape artist, who will use atmospheres, samples and loops to augment and bolster the music, as well as creating harsh sounds with the keyboard. You would be working alongside me to find and contribute source material via field recordings and sampled sounds from ordinary life, manipulated to produce new and odd sounds to weave into, out of, and around the music.

Auxiliary percussion:

We are also seeking an auxiliary percussionist to round and augment the percussive element of the band, on which there is a strong emphasis. I'm looking to incorporate Haitian and Cuban polyrhythms into the music to augment the beats with the drummer (who you'll be playing alongside) as needed for each song, helping to forge a unique, creative sound. I can teach you these rhythms.

You will be using congas, timbales, scrap metal and assorted items such as bells, goat hooves, bottles and knives to enhance the sound of the music. Also included will be harsh and atmospheric soundscapes, guitars played with bows and metal plectra, and vocal samples.

Several compositions are completed, and I plan to teach those to newcomers, as well as other completed songs that I am working on now. I presently have the songs to present to interested parties.

The current music is evident of bands such as early Swans, Neurosis, Godflesh, Damaged/My War/Slip It In-era Black Flag, Kyuss, Saint Vitus and Big Black. The first few compositions sound this way, but I expect to build on a naturally evolving sound.

The influences are many, but the more notable ones are Swans, Big Black, Godflesh, Savage Republic, Einsturzende Neubauten, Killing Joke, SPK, Laibach, Tad, Fudge Tunnel, Faust, Neurosis, Unsane, Unwound, Lead Belly, Diamanda Galas, Jarboe, Laibach, Body Lovers/Haters, Throbbing Gristle, Saint Vitus, Die Kreuzen, Live Skull, Dangerous Birds, Rorschach, Birthday Party, Glenn Branca, Suicide, John Zorn, Joy Division, Autumn Fair, Scorn, Dust, Uzi, Pigface, Coil, Black Sabbath, and Black Flag, to name a few.

We maintain a practice space in Seattle, and we ask that whoever joins be ready to contribute a portion of the rent. It's totally secure, 24/7 access.

I am a bassist seeking to form an avant-garde rock band. I have need of an unconventional guitarist, a keyboardist, a violinist, a cellist and a drummer.

I have the participation of a classically trained, multi-octave vocalist, along with a recently-acquired guitarist.
